Hello everyone! (i may have emailed this, but I figure I'll post for good measure)

In a fit of "lets make something awesome happen" I've wanted to organize a yarn-swap... in a big-ol'-take-over-a-room-at-the-library-sort-of-way... slightly more complex than your standard free-fer all, and hopefully more rewarding for everyone.

I envision it working a bit like this:

Folks gather up yonder spare yarn, Stuff they don't expect to use, stuff that used to sing to you... but just stopped, stuff that confounds, frogged UFOs, end of project balls, books and patterns, and tools, spinning fibers, etc. Then sorts them into similar types and shows up at the appropriate place and time...(Mar 16 or Mar 29 11-4)

Then a "point value" is assessed on yonder yarn, and you get to then "spend" those points on the yarn in the room... (the point here is to encourage folks to bring good things to market, and to make sure that if you bring a lot, you can take a lot -- but you don't have to 'spend' all your points... you can give them away to new or old friends!) then knit, and oggle, and check out the library's books, etc.

Then at a certain time, or when folks are "traded out" there is a short "poor man's grab" where you can grab yarns that you didn't have enough points to buy, or snag back bits of your remaining stash that you'd seen in a new light...

Everything that remains will be donated to the Knitters Connection: an org that helps facilitate charity knitting.
